I wanted to switch to stainless to avoid beaking the glass press and to keep my coffee hotter longer. This press looks very nice on the outside, but seems to be poorly made on the inside. It does press properly, and I can’t taste any metallic tinge, the coffee tastes great. It’s not that I think it’ll break, but I have two main issues: 1) The lid of the press doesn’t “vacuum” shut against the rim of the press, so heat can escape that way. 2) The screen is really poor quality, it’s not sealed off anywhere so there are tiny wires poking out eveywhere. This also causes it to krinkle up and allow grounds to enter your cup. Additionally, my glass press was very smooth when I inserted the press part and pressed it down. This one makes a scratching sound – metal on metal – and doesn’t fit togethe as smoothly. Since a replacement filte costs $15 on Amazon, I’d rather return this now than wait the few short months till I’ll have to replace the filter.

This is a very handsome coffee press. It keeps the coffee warm for a good period of time. I often brew a pot then drink it over the course of an hour. Still satisfyingly warm.
The press is not perfect. Some grounds will get through from time to time, but it is not horrible. The filter is kinked on one side after several uses, but I try and place that away from the pour spout then I get less grounds.
Press is a little short. I mean, when I press it all the way down I am not squeezing the grounds at the bottom. This means when I go to clean it there is always a bit of water under the screen with the grounds. I try to pour it out carefully before draining, but I usually end up with wetter than desirable grounds when I clean. Does not effect the taste of the coffee that I can tell, but does make for a slightly wetter waste basket on the way out the door…
Overall, very satisfied after a while of heavy use.

Looked great but
1. It did not keep he coffee any hotter than any other press
2. the press did not work. The coffee grounds escaped into the coffee.
3. Seemed poorly made-like I would have to be buying a new one sooner rather than later
