I was a Bodum fan but the base plate connector that attaches the screen is plastic as are several other parts that come into contact with the hot, acidic coffee. In addition my Bodum’s products have failed in approximately a year at this stress point. The Secura is all stainless steel so no worries about reactivity with the liquid or durability. Best part is its double walled so the coffee stays hot about twice as long as my Bodum glass French press.
Con: unlike glass, you can’t see the liquid level. It makes approximately 3 cups of coffee (32 oz).

I bought this because the glass of my other coffee presses kept breaking. Two things I’d change is that when you try to unscrew the filters from the stem the handle which also threads on, comes off. I keep a pair of pliers by my sink now to keep a firm hold on the stem. Also, liquid can get into the lid if it is submerged and there is no way to get it out so cleaning it is a challenge. I run it through the dishwasher and hope the dry cycle works well enough.
The filters work very well though and everything is very sturdy. I’m sure this will hold up for many, many years.

Perfect French press. Arrived fast and in good shape. Took a measuring cup and found it holds 3 3/4 cups. I pushed the plunger VERY slowly to get perfectly ground free coffee. It recommends course ground but I used regular and found the grounds had to be carefully rinsed away from the screen layers. I bought it because I wanted something that would not break and It makes good coffee and also brews tea.
