I bought this coffee maker a couple weeks ago and so far I have no complaints. I have tried out both the iced and hot coffee functions and both tasted great! The dispenser button is easy to use, and you don’t have to press the button extra hard or at a weird angle for it to work. I find it very convenient to be able to make up to 12 cups, and have the coffee kept warm up to 4 hrs so I can refill my cup throughout the day without having to make more coffee. I also like that since it is a dispenser style, any sized coffee cup can be filled. It is really easy to fill it up with water, but I do agree with the other reviewer that 2 prepared cups is actually only one drinking cup, so you should use double the serving size with the water/coffee. This is my first brew station style coffee maker, (I had the traditional and simple little glass pot drip coffee maker until the glass pot broke) and I think it is great and find it very easy to use, so I definitely recommend it!

I bought this because I have always liked the Hamilton Beach coffee makers. My daughter has a Keurig, which is great but too expensive for heavy coffee drinkers. I thought with the removable side reservoir on this Hamilton Beach model it would be a fantastic compromise. It was; for about 3 days.
The coffee itself tastes great but the advertisement about ‘no metal plate to scorch the coffee’ is wrong. Within days the metal piece in the bottom of the plastic ‘pot’ must be scrubbed free of heavy coffee staining. Even so, I could deal with this. I couldn’t, however, deal with the water all over the counter. I contacted the seller to see if they knew of something I might be doing wrong, or of a knowable fix to the problem, and was told to contact Hamilton Beach. In the interim the water leakage got so bad that I had to wring out the placemat under the coffee maker over the sink. When I got up the next morning and made coffee, only for it to be cold, I finally unplugged it and replaced it with an old Mr. Coffee pot my daughter in law had.
I am in the process of communicating with Hamilton Beach but expect I will never buy another coffee maker from them again.
$67 is a lot of money to spend on a coffee machine that doesn’t function properly. We have decided to stick with a simple pot.
EDIT: Contacted Hamilton Beach regarding this coffee maker. The representative’s explanation was that this model, as well as 47900, has a defect where water condensates in the reservoir then overflows and leaks out. The only way to combat this is to clean the reservoir out after each use, or to contact Hamilton Beach requesting a different coffee maker of equal or lesser value. I chose to request a different coffee maker. If nothing else I will have a spare on hand should I need one.

I have been using this machine for about 6 months and I love everything about this coffee brew station but one and it is a big enough irritant to drop 2 stars. The convenience is great, no carafe to clean or break is wonderful, coffee is brewed quickly, taste is ok..not fantastic but ok, filling with water from the removable water container is probably my favorite thing…no drips, spilling or mess. HOWEVER, I drink my coffee with a touch of milk and every cup I pour has to go right into the microwave to be hot enough to enjoy. I see where this is a common complaint and since the coffee seems to be less and less hot in the time I have had it, I wondered if anyone has found a solution. Scouring the heating element doesn’t seem to make that much difference. Anyone?
